Blake Morgan advise on start-up investment

Blake Morgan has advised on the first joint investment from Development Bank of Wales (DBW) and the British Business Bank.

Nisien.AI, an artificial intelligence spinout company from Cardiff University, has developed a platform to identify online harm and enhance moderation and has received equity investment to accelerate growth.

The tech firm was founded less than two years ago by two Cardiff University academics, Professors Matt Williams (criminology) and Pete Burnap (data science, AI). It is already working with key customers ranging from the top five social media platforms to global brands.

Blake Morgan advised the DBW on the significant joint investment with the British Business Bank.

Richard Jones, who led on the deal along with James Vaughan, from Blake Morgan’s corporate team, commented:
