Commissioning for integrated health and social care report
As part of Lawyers in Local Government (LGG) conference in Blackpool, Blake Morgan hosted a round-table concentrating on commissioning for integrated health and social care. Attending were 9 local authority lawyers from across England who took part in discussions on the following questions:
- Should local authorities be responsible for commissioning both health and social care?
- Could health and Wellbeing Boards have a wider role to play as potential commissioners?
From this input the Blake Morgan Central, Devolved and Local Government group have produced a white paper report which outlines the challenges of bringing health and local government together, entitled "A continental shift - is this your pangaea?"
