Do academies make use of their autonomy?
Two thirds of Academies say that standards have improved at their school as a result of the changes that Academy status has allowed them to make.
The Department for Education has just published a research report looking at the extent to which Academy schools have made use of their increased autonomy.
The research includes responses from 720 Academy schools, the majority of which have already made use of the greater freedoms available to Academy schools. The report can be viewed here.
