New twist on the controversial RBKC basement policies

Posted by Sara Hanrahan on
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is still waiting for the Inspector's Report following Public Examination of their tightened basement policies against large subterranean developments.

In a new radical move, however, the Council have this month decided to suspend determining any applications that do not comply with their emerging basement policies.  This means that even if proposals accord with their current Core Strategy and existing SPD they will not be finally determined until after the issue of the Inspector's Report which is now expected in December 2014.

Not unsurprisingly, this decision is causing waves!
