Blake Morgan's Public Sector Network Adjudication under the Construction Act
We would like to invite you to our next Public Sector Network Seminar at our Cardiff office on Wednesday 10 April 2019 for those in the public, charity and third sector.
This forum will be presented jointly by Kate Howell of Blake Morgan and guest speaker Andrew Kearney of St John’s Chambers. This forum is open to the wider construction sector providers, which we hope will result in an interesting exchange of views and experiences.
In this interactive forum, Kate and Andrew will give a brief overview of the Adjudication process, and then focus on practical tips and best practice in the conduct of adjudication proceedings, some pitfalls to avoid and some recent important developments in the Courts which affect the conduct of the process and the enforcement of decisions.
There will be time throughout for discussion and questions.
Kate is an Associate in our Construction Group. She has significant experience of both commencing and defending adjudication proceedings and also has been involved with the enforcement of adjudication decisions in the TCC. Kate acts for a range of public sector clients, including Health Boards, RSL and local authorities.
Andrew is a barrister at St John’s Chambers. He is widely regarded as the Western Circuit's leading barrister for construction and engineering disputes. He has been an accredited and active construction adjudicator for 18 years, and is on the TeCSA and TEBCAR panels. He acts both as adjudicator and as a party representative in adjudications and in related Court proceedings, as well as in construction disputes in Court and in arbitration, both nationally and internationally.
