Blake Morgan LLP (Sarah Rees, Conor Daly and Emily Till) and Three Stone (David Lord QC and Paul Burton) have secured victory for Georgian client Ivane Chkhartishvili in the Court of Appeal in the longstanding Blue Tropic litigation.

This litigation was commenced by Blue Tropic Limited and Coppella Ventures Limited in February 2013 and forms part of the global litigation relating to the estate of the late Georgian billionaire Arkady "Badri" Patarkatsishvili, which is one of the largest estate battles in legal history. This case centred around the ownership of a number of assets in Georgia, including some high profile real estate, that the claimants believed were worth circa $40million.

The Court of Appeal has allowed Mr Chkhartishvili's appeal and dismissed the action.  This follows Mr Chkhartishvili's victory in October in the Court of Appeal in Georgia in proceedings involving the same parties (and largely the same issues), and the estate of Mr Patarkatsishvili.
