Charity Commission - Consultation for managing relationships with organisations that are not charities
The Charity Commission has launched a consultation process on draft guidance on how charities should manage their relationships with organisations that aren't charities.
This new guidance is based on the core trustee duties and will set out principles for trustees to follow. The Charity Commission has said that is very aware that it is common for charities to have close working relationships with non-charities (trading subsidiaries etc.) but that this guidance will assist trustees to act in the correct way and manage the relationship properly.
This consultation will allow the Charity Commission to hear charities' views on the draft guidance and is in the process of organising round tables to discuss the guidance with charities and legal advisors. The consultation on the draft guidance will end on the 15 May 2018.
