Blake Morgan office move paves way for future growth

Blake Morgan is preparing to move its London staff to new offices at 6 New Street Square, EC4A 3DJ, on 23 May.

The firm’s 170 solicitors and support staff will occupy two floors which will provide improved facilities for clients, such as an 80-seater seminar suite.

The floors are being fitted out to enable Blake Morgan to adopt cutting-edge working practices in an environment that provides for the firm’s sustained and long-term growth.

The firm will be trialling an agile working system on one of the floors, which will see staff “hotdesking” through the use of laptop docking stations to make the most efficient use of the space available.

If the trial is successful, agile working may be introduced across Blake Morgan’s London teams as part of the firm’s growth strategy.

The new location places Blake Morgan’s teams in easy reach of their core London client base of entrepreneurs and property developers and will enable the firm to strengthen its links within the wider business and legal community.

Lawrence Phillips, Blake Morgan Regional Senior Partner for London, said: “It has become clear in recent years that our current offices no longer meet the needs of a forward-thinking and growing practice.

“This move puts us on the map in the heartland of like-minded businesses and gives us the opportunity to introduce new working practices that benefit our staff and clients alike.”

The move comes in the wake of last year’s merger with London-based Piper Smith Watton, which brought additional expertise in the entrepreneurial private client and corporate markets and doubled the size of Blake Morgan’s real estate and litigation practices in London.

Walter Cha, Managing Partner at Blake Morgan, said: “The design of our new offices at New Street Square reflects the philosophy and approach of the firm – forward thinking, collaborative and embracing change.

“The new facilities and fantastic location put us in a prime position to reach clients and prospects.

“We are very much looking forward to moving into our new home as we look forward to an exciting new chapter in the Blake Morgan story.”

The move will be the second major office relocation for Blake Morgan in less than two months. In mid-March, the firm will move its 200 staff in Wales into a new development at 1 Central Square in the centre of Cardiff.
