Blake Morgan team supports Reading charities with fundraising walk

A team from local law firm Blake Morgan stepped out to raise money for local charities in the Reading Legal Walk 2015.

They took part in the 10km walk around the historic buildings and waterways of the town to raise funds for advice agencies in Reading and the Thames Valley.

Half the money the Blake Morgan team raised will go to the charity FLAG DV, which helps victims of domestic violence throughout the region. The rest will go to other social welfare legal advice agencies through the Legal Support Trust.

So far the team has raised more than £700 from the event, which took place on the evening of Monday, September 21 and is in its second year. The firm will match funds raised with a contribution.

“It was great to be part of something that raises money for some good causes and carries out valuable work. We look forward to stepping out again next year to boost the funds of the Legal Support Trust.

Among those taking part was Guy Constant, a partner in the corporate team based in Blake Morgan’s Reading office, who said: “The advice agencies in the region do a fantastic job in preventing homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly and disabled and fighting exploitation.

“We know how short these agencies are of the funds to continue that work, and how many poor and vulnerable people in Reading and the Thames Valley rely on them for help. We’d like to thank everyone who has donated so far.”

In Blake Morgan’s team were: Guy Constant, partner, corporate team; Celeste Ainge, business development manager; Lucy Walker, litigation executive, insurance team; Narrinder Taggar, senior associate, insurance team; Lucy Whinnerah, senior communications and marketing executive; Danielle Parker, business development executive; Helen Morris, management information manager; Sarah Fanthorpe, associate in the insurance team; and Katie James, senior associate, insolvency team.
