New additions to Blake Morgan's highly praised 'Vigil' service
2015 is a celebratory year for Vigil, Blake Morgan's bespoke Employment law and HR support service, because it is now ten years since its launch.
As part of the tenth anniversary celebrations, Blake Morgan is delighted to announce that as of 1 September 2015, the Vigil service now includes advice on Auto-enrolment and Right to Work Checks, provided by Blake Morgan's highly skilled Pensions and Immigration law teams.
Sarah Peacock, the partner responsible for Vigil at Blake Morgan, comments, "A few months ago, we conducted a survey of all our Vigil clients to see what they thought of the service and whether they would be interested in any new additions such as Auto-enrolment and Right to Work Checks. These areas are handled by our Pensions and Immigration law teams, but they affect all employers day-to-day. The results showed not only that our clients continue to be delighted with the service and find it invaluable (see what our clients say below), but that they agreed these additions would add value to the service. We are delighted that these additional services are now in place to help all our Vigil clients, whether they have a sophisticated HR team or no HR resource at all."

Many employers were increasingly concerned about the uncertainty and escalating costs of employment issues and employment tribunal claims and being able to budget for those. To address this, in 2005 the firm became the first regional firm to offer a bespoke service enabling businesses to pay an annual retainer for unlimited access to advice on employment and HR issues from lawyers, with optional insurance against employment tribunal claims, for a fixed fee. Unlike other HR support providers, Vigil clients are not locked into a three or five year retainer, and renew their retainer annually.
When the firm launched the service in 2005, it provided Vigil clients with a hard copy employment law manual, which rapidly developed into Vigil's own impressive and comprehensive website with precedents, management guidance and up-to-date information about what is happening in the ever changing employment world.
