Blake Morgan is celebrating after its work alongside Azets Corporate Finance on the sale of L&S Waste to Biffa was named Deal of the Year (£10m – £50m) at last week’s South Coast Deals Awards 2025.

The awards, held at the Hilton Utilita Bowl in Southampton and hosted by The Business Magazine in partnership with Insider, celebrated winners across ten categories, including finance teams, law firms and emerging talents.

Partner Manoj Styche-Patel led the Blake Morgan team on the winning deal:

It is fantastic to see this deal recognised not only because it enables L&S, a well-established south coast employer, to benefit from the scale and innovation of Biffa, but also because it was a real team effort.

We have worked with L&S for many years, and this deal drew on the full breadth of Blake Morgan expertise, across corporate, tax, property, employment, banking, pensions, private client and commercial law. It was a pleasure to work in partnership with our friends at Azets to deliver a successful outcome.

The Blake Morgan team included  Manoj Styche-Patel (Corporate Partner), Katie Newham (Corporate Associate), Robert Thomas (Tax Partner), Paul Duggan (Banking Partner) and Gurbir Pattar (Property Associate).
