Cherrene is an associate in our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Division, specialising in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. She has considerable experience of acting in high profile, high value and complex litigation. Before joining Blake Morgan, Cherrene was at a leading US boutique litigation firm. She is qualified as a barrister.
Main areas of practice
Cherrene has acted on a number of commercial and financial disputes. She has particular interest in acting for clients in respect of shareholder disputes. Cherrene has a wealth of experience in representing clients involved in commercial litigation from advising on the merits of a claim, to negotiating a settlement and conducting and managing a trial.
She also advises clients in respect of their litigation risk when entering into a contract, or interpreting contractual clauses.
Cherrene also has experience representing clients concerning allegations of civil fraud and financial crime. She spent the first years of her career prosecuting and defending criminal cases in the Magistrates and Crown Courts, including acting as lead counsel on a multi handed money laundering prosecution. She has also acted on behalf of clients facing claims of fraud and misrepresentation.
Cherrene represents corporate clients, public bodies and individuals.
Cherrene joined Blake Morgan in 2019 from a boutique litigation firm where she spent seven years. After graduating from Kings College London where she gained a 2:1 Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws (Commercial and Corporate) with Merit, Cherrene qualified as a barrister following pupillage at a leading criminal set of chambers. She went on to prosecute and defend allegations of criminal conduct, including financial crime before joining a law firm and specialising in commercial litigation. She also has experience of multi-jurisdictional work having practiced as a foreign lawyer in Singapore.
