Heading up the firm’s Intellectual property group and Trade Mark prosecution team, Jill specialises in IP and IT disputes. She also heads the Commercial Litigation teams in the South and Wales.
Main areas of practice
Her experience includes contract and commercial disputes, intellectual property disputes including patent infringement, breach of copyright, design infringement, trademark and passing off matters, brand strategy advice and domain name disputes.
Jill has extensive experience of international arbitration and cross-border enforcement of intellectual property rights and domain name dispute resolution. Jill also specialises in aviation disputes.
Jill advises various clients on breach of confidence, infringement of database rights and breach of restrictive covenant issues relating to ex-employees. She secures the return of confidential information and damages.

Her clients include multi-national corporates and public sector bodies, including Nokia and clients based in the UK and overseas in the retail and charities sectors.

Jill joined the firm in 1999 and was awarded an LLM in Advanced Litigation with distinction in 2002. In 2004 Jill gained a distinction in her Diploma in Legal Practice Management.

Franchising: Jill has helped large groups of franchisees negotiate to leave their networks, including financial service and photography franchisees. She has also helped franchisors with a range of issues, including obtaining injunctive relief to restrain a former franchisee from competing.
