Nathan is a property litigation specialist who advises on the full portfolio of asset management and property issues, both of a contentious and non-contentious nature. He regularly advises healthcare bodies, educational institutions and universities, as well as private individuals and companies.

Main areas of practice

Based in Oxford and the Thames Valley, Nathan provides advice and litigation expertise to clients, covering the full spectrum of asset management and land law issues. These include, but are not limited to, such matters as restrictive covenants and easements, development issues, site clearances, business lease renewals and exits, dilapidations claims, tenant default, insolvency, and neighbourly matters. His practice covers both commercial and residential aspects.

Clients

His clients include healthcare providers, local authorities, charities and educational establishments, as well as private individuals, family estates and landed interests. He also has a specialism in Life Sciences organisations and companies, both UK-based and foreign domiciled.

Nathan trained at a London firm, qualifying in 2015. Since then, he has worked at large national firms before joining Blake Morgan as a Legal Director in 2026.

Significant Experience

  • Acting for the successful Defendant in the much-publicised matter of Valley View Health Centre & Others v NHS Property Services Limited [2022] (one of “The Lawyers” top cases of 2022), successfully claiming liability to recover commercial service charges for documented and undocumented tenancies, with national effect.
  • Securing prompt possession of property from politically-motivated squatters who occupied several healthcare facilities in the City of London and Oxford.
  • Securing emergency injunctions protecting a large data centre used by several local authorities from itinerant squatters who had denied the owners access to the site, with legitimate fears that the individuals were attempting to access the storage facility to remove data and cabling.
  • Successfully defended the operator of an airport in a claim brought by commercial flight operators over stoppage of runway units and other points of access.
  • Responsible for managing the portfolios of commercial contested and uncontested lease renewals for a well known High Street clothing retailer and also a national builders’ merchant company.
