Sophie undertakes a broad practice in Private Client issues, with a particular focus on personal taxation during lifetime and upon death, and advising offshore clients and entities with interests and assets in the UK.

Main areas of practice

Sophie undertakes lifetime and estate planning and advice for clients, including many with a multi-jurisdictional presence. She provides advice on taxation issues, including Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and the Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED). She advises a number of family offices, including those with offshore companies and trusts, about how best to hold their assets, including UK residential property. She also assists with the management of these assets. Her work includes the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney.

Sophie also undertakes the administration of estates, including those with complex or offshore aspects, or involving intestacies. She regularly deals with UK non-domiciled clients, including those who are UK resident, and advises them on tax matters relating to their individual situations.

Sophie advises individual clients on all matters relating to their lifetime and estate planning. Her clients often include several generations of the same family. She also advises a range of Trustees, particularly of offshore Trusts which have UK interests, as well as company administrators.

Sophie graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2009, having studied Classics. She spent some time teaching and she sat as a Magistrate, before turning to the study of Law. She joined Blake Morgan as a trainee solicitor in September 2014, qualifying in September 2016.
