Solicitors in Religious Divorce
There are circumstances where a separating couple may wish to formalise their separation and subsequent financial arrangements without divorcing. This is most commonly due to religious beliefs. Blake Morgan’s team of family lawyers can provide advice and support through the process of obtaining a judicial separation or ‘religious divorce.’
In the case of a judicial separation or ‘religious divorce’, the couple remain legally married. As part of this process, they are still able to agree a financial arrangement broadly mirroring those available in divorce proceedings, but with some important exceptions.
We are also adept in acting in cases where a non-Christian divorce may be sought or may be prejudicial.
Main Areas Of Practice
Our team of divorce lawyers is highly experienced in dealing with all types of separation and the issues that arise from them, including:
Judicial Separation
We advise and represent clients in proceedings to obtain a judicial separation order, otherwise known as a religious divorce.
Non-Christian divorces
We advise and represent clients where a divorce equivalent in non-Christian religions may be sought or may be prejudicial.
Financial order
We advise and represent clients through the process of preparing and analysing financial disclosure following judicial separation proceedings. We then negotiate the terms of an agreed financial order to be filed with the Family Court.
Our Clients
We act for business owners, company directors, senior executives, medics, academics, sports people, members of the professions and the clergy, and homemakers.
