A win for Blake Morgan at the Wales Dealmaker Awards

Posted on 10th September 2021

Congratulations to Blake Morgan’s corporate, banking, employment and tax teams in Wales after last night’s (9 September) win at the Insider Media Wales Dealmaker Awards.

The investment in Kagool (now known as UNRVLD) backed by BGF deal, which Blake Morgan advised on, won the Private Equity/Venture Capital Deal of the Year.

The expertise of our corporate, banking, employment and tax teams came together to act for the sellers in the BGF-backed management buyout of Fusion Workshop Ltd (trading as Kagool at the time).

Led by corporate partner Robert Cherry, the team was made up of Richard Jones (corporate), James Bowen (corporate), Paul Duggan (banking), Emilie Archer (banking), Jo Davies (employment) and Cathy Bryant (tax).

In an article on Insider Media, the commentary around the winning deal said:

BGF invested £6m in Kagool, a digital agency based in Cardiff, to support its organic and acquisitive growth strategy. The deal supported the founder's aims, incentivised the management team, unlocked growth potential, and ensured that BGF remained a minority partner.

The Wales Dealmaker Awards celebrate the top acquisitions, buyouts and funding deals in the year and the people that make them happen.

Congratulations to all.
